At Obsidian Men’s Health, board certified urologists focus on andrology: a medical speciality which focuses on male reproductive health. An andrologist focuses on diagnosing and treating testosterone deficiency, sexual dysfunction, infertility and other urologic issues unique to men. These urologic conditions often have a strong underlying endocrine component. In particular, testosterone deficiency is a condition treated by both urologists and endocrinologists to a high level of expertise. 

Testosterone deficiency can often coexist with other endocrine conditions such as thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance and pituitary gland abnormalities. Other medical issues seen by andrologists such as infertility, ejaculatory dysfunction, metabolic dysfunction and obesity may also be heavily burdened by endocrinopathy. 

For this reason, Obsidian Men’s Health felt strongly about bringing an endocrinology perspective to the table.

Jack Cukierman, MD is an endocrinologist with over forty years of experience who has agreed to join our team as an expert endocrine advisor and colleague. Dr. Cukierman obtained his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo, NY. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Millard Fillmore Hospital. He went on to complete his endocrinology fellowship at Albany Medical Center and then did an additional year of fellowship at the prestigious Joslin Clinic at Harvard. He served as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at the Jacobs School of Medicine for over twenty years while also caring for patients in a busy private practice. He is currently semi-retired but still maintains clinical responsibilities.

At Obsidian Men’s Health, Dr. Cukierman will not be seeing new endocrine patients. He will be serving in an advisory role, working closely with our urologists to consult on complex cases where urology and endocrinology intersect. To our knowledge, we are the only concierge men’s health practice in the country with this unique endocrinology partnership.
